Ex Liverpool and England defender Stephen Warnock took some time out his busy schedule to take a first look at Fun1st Football’s new skills arena in Liverpool.
Having been part of the Liverpool’s 2005 Champions League squad and played for great clubs such as Aston Villa, Leeds and Wigan, Stephen knows a few things about training at the top level.
Now retired from his playing career, Warnock is keen to continue working in the game and has been training towards his professional coaching badges with A & B licences already in his repertoire.
We asked him if he would come over and give us his opinion on the facilities at Fund1st Football.
As we’re still in the building stage of our new skills arena, we managed to demonstrate a few pieces of equipment which had some fantastic feedback.
V2 6M ICON
We watched the former international take the ICON for a spin. This piece of equipment has several modes that will test the ability of the player and improve performance over time. It’s also a great method to gain fitness when coming back from injury.
the ICON uses LED lights and vibration sensors to create targets. The system tracks successful and unsuccessful hits and sends this data to the Fun1stFootball scoreboard. This is where you can see your progress against the top 20 players who have attended the area, including pros such as Stephen Warnock and Steven Jennings.
The Rezzle Index – Virtual skills testing
Fun1stFootball is one of the first in the North West to house the Rezzle Virtual Reality system.
Rezzil uses a series of compact, measurable drills that track important mental characteristics in first-team footballers. Rezzil players interact with a virtual ball using natural football movement patterns.
We put Stephen through a complete assessment to test his accuracy, focus and skill and see where he lies in the Rezzle Index. Needless to say, he did very well!
So, Fun1stFootball skills arena gets the seal of approval – test yourself against Stephen Warnock Score and see if you have what it takes!
